Not caring for your underwear can lead to nasty smells, but not caring for your contact lenses can lead to nasty eye infections. The CDC put it best with three simple rules:
Replace your lenses as often as your eye doctor tells you, and don’t sleep in them unless your eye doctor says it’s okay.
If a lens falls out and you can’t disinfect it with fresh solution right away, throw it out. Never rinse lenses with water or saliva. And never buy contacts from costume shops or anywhere that doesn’t require a prescription.
Keep a pair of glasses with you for late nights, trips to the pool, or a lens that comes out unexpectedly.
Have questions about your contact lenses or think it’s time for a new prescription? Schedule a visit with us.
